CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT IN THE ERA OF NEW ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS IN BULGARIA AND TÜRKIYE
Abstract:
The background of the research is based upon the conclusions of the International Transport Forum (OECD, 2-21) that one of the big challenges for the environment comes from the transportation sector, which is responsible for approximately 23% of the discharged CO2 emissions; this quantity is expected to increase to 40% by 2030 and to 60% by 2050. The already expressed negative tendency is calling for new models for freight transport represented in the form of inter-modality. This means the logistics side of international economic relations, represented by land mode of transport (road and rail), inland waterways, short-sea shipping, and even airborne transport at short distances, should make use of viable combinations to decrease the harmful substances; it also concerns domestic transport policy which should stimulate non-road transportation solutions. The European Green Deal practically outlines the plan for the decarbonization of the economies of the member states of the union until 2050, with the aim of improving the well-being and health of European citizens and future generations with an accent over transport activities. Usually, logistics providers offer transport solutions, combining several modes, led by stakeholders’ expectations for reduced time and costs of transferring goods, reliability, and frequency of services. The biggest challenge is to design a resilient transport network, where the users can easily switch between transport modes in real time, while there is enough evidence that combined transport solutions are in accordance with the contemporary requirements towards freight transport. Infrastructure investments, easing transborder connections and interoperability in general have a positive effect over the development of combined transport. This paper is addressing the opportunities and difficulties in employing combined transport solutions using the methodology SWOT-TOWS and applying the research results to the existing possibilities in Bulgaria and Turkey as a neighbor non-EU country in the role of advanced competitor in the development of combined transport solutions. The conclusions confirm that economic development and its interaction and dependence on international logistics development is the most important factor of the environment encouraging or detaining the combined transport solutions. It also affects investments in transport infrastructure, the application of ITS and AI, the technological factors influencing the general trends of transport development and in particular, freight transport.

DETERMINATION OF THE EFFICIENCY
OF IMPLEMENTING BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY INTO THE LOGISTICS SYSTEMS
Abstract:
In a supply chain, buyers and suppliers usually try to supply goods or services based on medium or long-term contracts. When executing a supply contract, two partners are required to mutually agree on cooperation in order to successfully respond to uncertain market situations or a supply chain failure. The outcome of the partnership is assessing and considering renewal upon termination of the contract. A partnership after several contract renewals is often viewed as a strategic partnership. Strategic partnership can become more effective and show further growth. Blockchain, which has recently gained attention in the digital commerce market, has technical characteristics that can be used in cooperation between partners. The company’s activity is closely related to the need for cargo transportation. Today, the workflow process of delivery is being complicated by the low speed of the logistics cycle, long flow of documents and the presence of errors in them, and security issues. The objective of the research is to define the improvement of the transport logistics system of an industrial enterprise. To define the efficiency, we need to implement blockchain technology, which will solve existing problems in the field of supply management. In this study, the implementation stages of blockchain technology are considered and profitability is defined for future research.
Since the analysis revealed the interdependence and mutual influence of transport and information support in the processes of transportation, we recommend using the performance indicators of the processes of transport and information logistics.
Using the method of analyzing the types and consequences of potential problems, it was found that the main reason that the management of a chemical enterprise should first of all pay attention to complex with a continuous production cycle, is the timely execution of all operations preceding the shipment of finished products by a vehicle from the manufacturer. In second place in terms of importance and degree of influence on the transportation process is the execution of documentation, which directly affects the timing of transportation. Their delay leads to a delay in the departure of transport from the territory of the plant and, as a result, the financial costs of storing finished products in and out of the warehouse increase.
As a result of the study, the logistics system of enterprises is considered to be one of the most complex and well-functioning mechanism. Despite the wide variety of interpretations of the basic concepts, it is concluded that the study will use the interpretation of definitions such as logistics, transport logistics, system, transport and transport logistics system. The orientation of the implementation of blockchain technology to the technological side of logistics reduces risks and significantly increases stability, since it forms its practical orientation.

SUPPLY CHAINS OF PERISHABLE AGRI-FOOD PRODUCTS IN THE EAEU: CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES AND DEVELOPMENT
OF LOGISTICS INFRASTRUCTURE
Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to develop a conceptual approach to the formation of an integrated logistics platform for perishable agri-food products within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The methodological framework is based on systems and scenario analysis, SWOT assessment, comparative analysis of the logistics potential of EAEU member states, and modeling of logistics chain efficiency under different levels of integration using panel empirical data for the period 2015–2023. Selected indicators of logistics infrastructure are employed to provide a descriptive assessment of the current state of agrologistics as of 2023.
The modeling results demonstrate that coordinated investment policies and regulatory harmonization can significantly enhance the efficiency of agrologistics chains in the context of regional integration. The findings confirm that digitalization and the development of cold chain infrastructure are key determinants of logistics sustainability, while the coordination of regulatory and investment mechanisms substantially improves logistics efficiency across the EAEU member states. Based on the estimated parameters, a scenario-based forecast of agrologistics development up to 2030 is proposed. The study introduces a scalable model of an integrated agrologistics platform incorporating a cluster-based approach, a unified digital framework, and public–private partnership mechanisms adaptable to the specific conditions of EAEU countries. The scientific novelty of the research lies in substantiating a platform-based approach to cross-border agrologistics grounded in the synergy of digital and physical solutions, institutional coordination, and targeted infrastructure policy.
