In the contemporary landscape marked by the pervasive influence of artificial intelligence (AI), technological innovations continue to reshape conventional practices across various domains. Within the realm of human resources management, the intricate process of decision-making has long posed challenges in terms of analytical elucidation. However, the advent of AI technologies has ushered in a new era, offering unprecedented opportunities to augment and refine HR administration practices.
This paper delves into the transformative potential of AI applications within human resources management, shedding light on how diverse AI modalities, including narrow and general AI, are revolutionizing traditional approaches. Through a comprehensive review of literature sourced from esteemed databases such as Scopus and Google Scholar, this study identifies key advancements poised to drive future research endeavors.
Beyond the realm of recruitment, AI presents a myriad of possibilities spanning talent acquisition, employee training and development, performance assessment, compensation management, engagement initiatives, and even employee well-being programs. The synergy between human capabilities and AI integration emerges as a cornerstone for achieving enhanced outcomes, often serving as a determinant for competitive advantage within organizations while also impacting broader societal dynamics.
By exploring the symbiotic relationship between human ingenuity and AI capabilities, this research seeks to elucidate the pathways through which AI-driven innovations can foster organizational excellence and societal progress.

MANAGING THE INTELLECTUAL POTENTIAL
OF GLOBAL VALUE CHAINS IN THE CONTEXT
OF DIGITALIZATION CHALLENGES

This article delves into the interrelationship among contemporary economic phenomena, namely global value chains, digitalization, and the management of intellectual potential. The paper scrutinizes and underscores the antecedents that led to the inception of the global value chains concept, and delineates an evolutionary diagram of this notion.
The aim of this paper is to examine the importance of global value chain challenges and their impact in the digitalization context. To achieve this goal, the Delphi method of collective examination is used in order to conduct a large-scale survey with the involvement of economists working in the global value chains field. The results of the study show that the factor “Lack of skills in the use of digital technologies” is the most influential, and the factor “Corporate culture” is the least influential. A statistical survey was carried out, involving a sample of sixty respondents who are experts in the field. Subsequently, a number of challenges were ranked based on the scores obtained through the Delphi collective examination methodology. The research confirms the pronounced significance of macro groups encompassing challenges to cyber security and the degree of digitalization among the company’s personnel.
The novelty of this research lies in the proposed classification of the challenges of the global value chains in the digitalization context and conclusions obtained thanks to the collective expertise regarding the significance of the classified factors.

SCIENTIFIC MAPPING OF BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AND ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING FROM 2003 TO 2022

The changes in global markets have represented an important challenge for firms, therefore the integration of strategic processes, the efficiency of operations, the management of information and the knowledge generated, have been the basis for incorporating advanced management tools in the era of digitalization. In this sense, business intelligence (BI) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are two topics that have become widespread and researched in recent years. The present study aims at the conceptual analysis of ERP-BI topics with information collected from the web of science database from 2003 to 2022, identifying the most representative approaches and quantifying the main bibliometric indicators with the support of an open access technological tool SciMAT. The results show a growing trend of publications related to the incorporation of business systems and their conceptual relationships to sustainable development, knowledge management (KM), big data, among others. This study highlights the growth of research on BI and ERP systems, integrating organizational processes and generating knowledge based on valuable information for decision making with a positive impact on productivity and innovative strategy

TECHNOLOGICAL THEORIES IN ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT: EVOLUTION AND APPLIED ASPECTS

The contemporary stage of social development is characterized by the widespread adoption of technologies that contribute to the effective advancement of business and the economy as a whole. The successful application of these technologies in economic and managerial practices necessitates an exploration of past ideas and experiences, which are subsequently to be theoretically conceptualized and enhanced. In this context, the objective of the current article is to trace the evolution of technological theories, pinpoint some unresolved issues, and emphasize the need for further investigation within the realm of managerial technologies. To achieve this objective, a retrospective examination of technological theories has been undertaken, analyzing fundamental theoretical and practical aspects of management technologies. As a result of this investigation, a shift has been identified from specialized towards comprehensive managerial technologies, the more significant characteristics have been systematized, and main elements and trends in modern managerial technologies have been analyzed.

Внедряването на облачните технологии е сред основните предпоставки за прерастване на бизнеса от традиционен в електронен, но пълноценното им използване налага цялостна преработка на съществуващите бизнес приложения, което от своя страна изисква финансови, времеви и човешки ресурси, надхвърлящи възможностите дори на най-големите предприятия. Една реалистична алтернатива е създаването на стратегия за поетапен преход към облачни системи и технологии, което от своя страна предполага интегриране на съществуващите в предприятието традиционни системи с новоизгражданите облачни решения. Настоящото изследване предлага, приоритетите на този поетапен преход да се определят на базата на някои основни характеристики на дейностите, съставящи цялостния бизнес процес като динамика и перспективност, текущо и възможно ниво на автоматизация, обем на обработваните данни, създаваното от тях натоварване на обслужващите ги системи и др. Разработката представя подход за интегриране на традиционна и облачна системи, които съвместно обслужват общ бизнес процес „Кандидатстване за потребителски кредит“, който изисква обмен на данни в реално време. Интеграционното решение използва структури от данни, които са създадени в междинна база данни за комуникация между системите. Дефинирани са правила за достъп до данните и начините за манипулирането им от страна на всяка от интегрираните системи. Комуникацията се извършва от програмни компоненти (тригери и съхранени процедури), които са реализирани в базата данни на оперативната система и гарантират обмен на данни за обработка в реално време. Предложеният в разработката подход е апробиран и внедрен в практиката на голяма българска банка. Основни негови предимства са цялостното обслужване на бизнес процеса, гъвкавост, адаптивност и лесна разширяемост при минимални изисквания за финансови и времеви ресурси.
