ASYMMETRIES OF THE EU SINGLE MARKET EFFECTS IN THE POLISH ECONOMY
Abstract:
The European Union Single Market represents one of the most advanced examples of economic integration in the contemporary global economy. The main thing about it is that it functions as a mechanism that systematically reduces transaction costs and increases the accessibility of national markets to economic actors from other Member States. The aim of this study is to present the effects of the asymmetries of the EU single market on the Polish economy through a combination of data and methods. To pursue this objective, we use the industry-level International Trade and Production Database for Estimation (ITPD-E) of the U.S. International Trade Commission, and we rely on the workhorse empirical model of trade – the gravity equation, which we estimate for each of the 170 ITPD-E industries following the recommendations for gravity estimations.
Against this backdrop, the contribution of our paper is to obtain estimates of the asymmetric effects of the Single Market on the exports vs. imports for Poland, looking at important sectors of the Polish economy such as Agriculture and Agricultural Products, Mining and Energy, Manufacturing, Services.
As a final result, it can be stated that integration with the EU Single Market revealed and reinforced Poland’s existing comparative advantages in primary production, making the agricultural raw materials sector one of the earliest beneficiaries of trade liberalisation. At the same time, it entrenched an asymmetric pattern of specialisation, in which the growth of exports of raw products coexisted with a relatively greater dependence on imports of goods with a higher degree of processing

SUPPLY CHAINS OF PERISHABLE AGRI-FOOD PRODUCTS IN THE EAEU: CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES AND DEVELOPMENT
OF LOGISTICS INFRASTRUCTURE
Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to develop a conceptual approach to the formation of an integrated logistics platform for perishable agri-food products within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The methodological framework is based on systems and scenario analysis, SWOT assessment, comparative analysis of the logistics potential of EAEU member states, and modeling of logistics chain efficiency under different levels of integration using panel empirical data for the period 2015–2023. Selected indicators of logistics infrastructure are employed to provide a descriptive assessment of the current state of agrologistics as of 2023.
The modeling results demonstrate that coordinated investment policies and regulatory harmonization can significantly enhance the efficiency of agrologistics chains in the context of regional integration. The findings confirm that digitalization and the development of cold chain infrastructure are key determinants of logistics sustainability, while the coordination of regulatory and investment mechanisms substantially improves logistics efficiency across the EAEU member states. Based on the estimated parameters, a scenario-based forecast of agrologistics development up to 2030 is proposed. The study introduces a scalable model of an integrated agrologistics platform incorporating a cluster-based approach, a unified digital framework, and public–private partnership mechanisms adaptable to the specific conditions of EAEU countries. The scientific novelty of the research lies in substantiating a platform-based approach to cross-border agrologistics grounded in the synergy of digital and physical solutions, institutional coordination, and targeted infrastructure policy.

CHALLENGES FACING RETAILERS’ ASSORTMENT SUPPLY IN THE OMNICHANNEL AGE
Abstract:
Thå following article presents the results of a study aimed at making a theoretical and empirical interpretation of retailers’ assortment supply in omnichannel environment. On this basis, the most prominent challenges and issues are brought to the fore by applying a combination of a review of specialized economic theory and by giving examples from real retail practice. Specific theoretical, conceptual and practical tasks of the study are set. For the analysis of the collected theoretical and empirical data the scientific methods of the factor analysis and synthesis, comparison, generalization, and illustration are applied. The research results are systematized in formulated conclusions and are related to estimating the omnichannel impact on the retailers’ assortment supply.
